Infrastructure update: Official construction notice dated October 2, 2026; reviewed by DurhamPlanning.com on October 2, 2026.
Durham Region has hired Dufferin Construction to reconstruct and rehabilitate part of Lake Ridge Road, also known as Regional Road 23, in Brock and Uxbridge. The work area begins 200 metres north of Ravenshoe Road and extends to 75 metres south of Concession Road 7.
What the project includes
The Region’s notice lists four main components: pulverizing the existing asphalt, placing new granular material and asphalt, replacing culverts and improving drainage ditches, and installing new street lighting. Those elements make this more than a surface paving job. Culvert and ditch work affects how water is carried beside and under the road, while the lighting work changes roadside infrastructure.
Construction schedule
Site preparation is scheduled to begin during the week of October 5, 2026. Ditching and culvert replacement are planned for fall 2026. The project is then expected to pause for the winter from December 1, 2026, through May 1, 2027. Road building, including pulverization and new asphalt, is planned for spring 2027.
The stated completion date is July 31, 2027, subject to weather. This is a construction schedule, not a guarantee that every activity will occur on the first listed day.
Access and travel effects
Daily lane restrictions will be needed during the project. The notice tells drivers to expect delays and allow more travel time. Equipment may also produce noise and ground vibration for nearby homes and businesses. The road is not described as closing for the full project, but conditions may change as crews move between drainage, lighting and road-building phases.
For a property beside the corridor, the practical questions may include driveway access, culvert work, drainage and the location of municipal right-of-way. The official notice is the appropriate place to confirm project contacts and current construction information.
